This is a good overview of everything you should know about UFOs. I’ll try to go over the vast UFO shapes, types, colors, illuminations, flight paterns, speeds, radiation, and etc. As I am trying my best to write from knowledge of years of research, afterwards I’ll frequently update some of the text with more and more outside links that provide examples and illustrations. I am actually leaving out some details but trying to give the fullest conclusion for whats most popurlary reported.
Shapes & Types:
Flying Disks and Saucers
A flat bottomed saucer sometimes described a chrome hubcap, upside-down saucer plate, or a silver colored dome.
A flat-top straw hat or top hat flying saucer and double flat-top “straw hat”
Lenticular saucers, look like two metal soup bowls that have been glued together rim to rim. This is the type of UFO US Astronaut Gordon Cooper claimed to have seen.

Spheroids
Perfectly spherical, normally very bright and shiny. Looks like a ball bearing sometimes with a ring or band around the equator of the sphere.
Flat sphere with equatorial rings, saturn shaped like the planet Saturn with its rings.
Ovoids
Elliptical or ellipsoidal meaning oval, football, or egg shaped. Rowswell UFO crash was reported described as a egg-shaped 12-15ft long, and about 6ft high.
Conical
Conical hat styled UFO with a shallow cone also resemblems a “top.”
Cylindrical
These are the ones that are often refered to as the Giant Cigars, to me I always think of a giant propane tank.
Triangular
Large eqaulatorial triangle shaped UFOs often times refered to as the “Big Black Deltas” These are one of the more popular styles of UFOs and I myself believe I’ve seen one of these. In earlier years some of the reports of these might of been USAF “Stealth Fighters” however what I seen had 1 large white light in each corner of the triangle. Some report not only the 3 white lights in each corner but sometimes a pulsating light in the center.
Crescent
These are V or boomerang shaped UFOs are also one of the more popular types sighted including some of the very well known cases. I’ll try to add some links to incidents regarding these cresent shaped UFOs later.

Sizes:
Unidentified Flying Objects sizes very greatly but seem to have similiarities in with each type of UFO. Such as spheres tend to be about the size of of a basketball. And some report huge motherships being close to 600 meters. Regular disk and saucers tend to be about 30 feet or so. Big Black Delta reports can get rather large at about 300 meters. And since some of these is in meters a Jumbo Jet 747 is about 230 feet (70m) with a wingspan of about 195ft (60m).
Wobble:
When hovering a lot of saucers will tilt back and forth at about 30 degrees each way. Sort of like a rocking a motion like a boat in the waves.
Deployment:
Some sightings report that flying saucers and disk have been seen entering and leaving larger cylinders and cones. These are thought to be some sort of scouting vehicle for the mothership working in the same fashion as our military air craft carriers sending out jets, helicopters, and now UAVs also.
Radiation:
When flying or taking off UFOs normally visible and invisible electromagnetic energy is emitted from the craft at high levels.
Colors and Lights:
The colors and reflectivity vary greatly amongst individual sightings at night some report changing glowing neon lights while others report just extremely bright lights similiar to a welders torch. UFOs have what I like to think of as “running lights” just like on my truck outside except these lights will strobe in sequences around the craft. While during daytime hours the reports normally consist of being very shiny like a mirror in the sun or the shinest metal imaginable.
Cloaking:
Most likely the most disputed thing about UFO’s capabilities is can it make itself invisible or not. At one time UFO researchers discounted all eye-witness accounts that claimed the Object to vanish or disappear. If I remember right some of the Military’s documents on UFOs included the term “dematerialization” meaning the ability to become invisible or more precisely military term would be cloaking I think. Some speculate that they’re actually becoming invisible, while other think that they might have the ability to instantly jump to another time or dimension.
Splitting or Merging:
Reports have also indicated that UFOs have the ability to split or transform into a smaller object in a instant soundless explosion of a bright light.
Spinning:
Almost all reports of saucers spin direction goes in a counter clockwise direction and with sometimes visible rotating components on underside or belly of the space ships. In these cases the rim of of the disk is rotating while the center stays stationary. This is thought to be the works of its anti gravity hovering abilities.
Flying Abilities:
UFOs can travel through air, space and even underwater, these underwater ufos are called USOs, unidentified submerged objects. Lots of mari-time ships have reported seeing UFOs dive into and come out of the ocean. They can hover or move at seemingly lightning fast speeds and disappear right before your eyes. Most movements come very suddenly or with a rapid change in pace or direction at perfect right turns while moving extremely fast. Sometimes multiple UFOs are seen flying in what seems to be a formation with other UFOs. They can hover really close to the ground without ever landing onto it and the term “flying saucer” actually came about when a witness in a sighting refered to its movement as like “saucers skipping across the water.”
Landing Traces:
Sometimes saucer nests are formed when a UFO hovers very low just right above the ground which creates swirled down grass rings while othertimes they leave rings of heat damaged soil with chemical and physical modifications.
Weight:
This is probably the most speculative but from test of soil compression of imprints left by the “landing gear” of some saucers revealed that weight of the craft was somewhere on average between 8 and 18 tons and in some cases up to 30 tons.
Speeds, Acceleration, and Propulsion:
I believe the highest military radar observation was August 1956 at Bentwaters, England which placed craft speed at around 12,000mph! But at the same time UFOs have the ability to hover completely motionless in the sky. G-Force is the multiples of the earths gravity, it said that a UFO can reach 100 Gs. That being said knowing what we know about G force there must be a way that the actual pilots and occupants of the craft don’t feel that force. Remember these are aliens not immortals, 100g is extreme, I believe 9gs will kill a human being, but I could be wrong about that. Althought the exact science of flying saucers propulsion system has not been figured out, we know that there is no sort of jet propulsion or any ejection of any sort of propellant. A lot of researchers believe that it to work very similiar to the way magnets have the ability to attract and repel from other magnets with one magnet being the UFO and other magnet being earths gravity. That makes perfect sense to me.
Sounds:
It seems most reports say, “it never made a sound!” However some people do report sounds with UFO sightings and they vary in groups like violent bangs or loud explosions, very low pitch humming or buzzing, sounds of rushing air “whooshing and swishing,” high pitches like whirling and drilling, and signals like a beeping sound.
Disclosure:
We’ve had very little disclosure from the United States government about Unidentified Flying Objects, and its believed that the US Government is the one leading world politics to secrecy. Some say that other countries around the world are getting impatient with United States and is the reason why countries like Mexico’s military have recently opening used the term “UFO.” Keeping UFOs a secret by our Government is the only thing that scares me about UFOs, they must be bad if they don’t want us to know about them! WARNING “Near approaches of UFOs can be harmful to human beings. Do not stand under a UFO that is hovering at low altitude. Do not touch or attempt to touch a UFO that has landed. In either case the safe thing to do is to get away from there very quickly and let the military take over. There is a possibility of radiation danger and there are known cases where persons have been burned by rays emitting from UFOs. Don’t take chances with UFOs!”
UFO Hotspots:
Out of the average 200 reports of sightings MUFON gets each month a majority of these come from the states of California, Colorado, and Texas. Other than that Unidentified Flying Objects seem to be attracted to large bodies of water, military installations, and nuclear weaponry & energy installations. Roswell, NM was the home of the 509th atomic bomb regiment, which droped the bombs in Japan. Even with the vast amount of daytime sightings there is out there UFOs mostly appear at night.
